About Borsec

       The health resort Borsec is situated in the InterCarpathian basin with the same name, at an average altitude of 900 m, at a 120 km distance from Piatra Neamt, 28 km from Toplita, 130 km from Tg. Mures, 300 km from Brasov. A thick pine forest surrounds it, sheltering it from cold winds. The range of mountains and the forests, which guard it, pacify the speed of the wind, purify the air and reduce the sudden temperature changes. The summer months are warm, but not too hot; the short rains refresh the air. The autumn is especially beautiful. The mornings and the evenings are cool, but during the day it is warm and clear. The winters are not so cold as you might believe it. The climate is milder because of the high altitude. Borsec, this heavenly place from the Oriental Carpathians is famous for its curative mineral water. The curative natural factors (microclimate, air cure, terrain cure, therapeutically cure and curative waters), as well as the physiotherapeutic procedures cure and ease the nutritive and digestive problems, the circulatory trouble and the problems of the nervous systems. Borsec is the perfect place for rest and recreation: it is a real paradise for hiking (Glade of Fairies, Ice Cave, Bear Cave, Old Spring, Owl Castle) and for winter sports (on Faget and Fagetel for beginners and advanced), but also for the amateur fishers who can try their luck in the water of Bistricioara or in the Bicaz lake, near the resort. In weekend you can walk accompanied by the music of the brass band.
